Chambers has his takedown stuffed
and Romero counters with a huge overhand right that connects right on the temple, sending him crumpling, face first to the floor! This one is all over! What a knockout!

Chambers is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Pavel Batanke seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Chambers takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.

Chambers has hold of Batanke's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Batanke tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Chambers cranks the arm and Batanke screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Batanke, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.

Whack! Brown lands a heavy head kick that drops Huber. The ref tackles Brown to stop the fight - a great save by the referee because Huber was done.

Alvarado fails with the takedown
and Alvarado takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

Alvarado looks up at the clock and then as Briggs takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Alvarado smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

Alvarado is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Briggs's shoulder. That is not cool.
It looks like Alvarado might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.#T2#
The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Marc Briggs is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Alvarado closes the distance and clinches up with Briggs, looking for a takedown. Alvarado pushes Briggs against the cage but Briggs circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Briggs went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.
Alvarado shoots in for a double leg but Briggs sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Briggs is breathing heavily.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Israel Alvarado will probably get the nod.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.#R2#
Alvarado tries to score a power double leg takedown but Briggs sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Alvarado somewhat.
Alvarado changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Briggs tries to avoid it but Alvarado manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Briggs to the ground. Briggs escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

and Briggs counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.

Alvarado gets control of Briggs's arms and successfully pulls guard. Alvarado will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Briggs is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Alvarado has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Briggs is looking to defend but Alvarado has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Briggs! Alvarado pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Briggs taps out and this one is all over!

Chambers drops back looking for a submission - "I'm sorry sir, but I'm gunna break your leg" says Chambers as he cranks on the unfortunate limb! Cordova screams and taps out before any major damage is done! Don't mess with Chambers! Nice submission victory there!
