Scooter is staying active underneath Smith, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Scooter gets full guard.#SUB# Scooter is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a triangle but Smith frees his head nicely. Oh but Scooter has switched to an armbar! Smith is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!

Smith showed some decent athleticism there. #ES2# Mcdonald has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but Smith is on him like a limpet, forcing Mcdonald back against the cage. Smith gets underhooks to prevent Mcdonald's takedown attempt.

#TD2# Mcdonald has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Smith clear over his head and slammed him to the mat! This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Despite being in a bad position, Smith is controlling the hands, preventing any submission attempts. Mcdonald trying desperately to keep hold of the dominant position.

That's going to take a lot out of Sean Mcdonald. Smith throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Amaren shoots for a takedown but Gibson saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.#TD# Excellent takedown into side control there by Gibson. Amaren is looking for a sweep. Gibson in side control, just content to control the action for now. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Amaren can do anything to dispel that myth. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Gibson wants to stand but Amaren has his arm trapped. #T1# Amaren takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
