Horrible takedown attempt by McGee or perhaps it was just good defense by Viikinki, which made it look bad.
McGee throws a left and a right that both miss
and Viikinki connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Viikinki fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
McGee tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Viikinki paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Viikinki lands an uppercut, right on the button! McGee tumbles backwards into the cage, staring vacantly into space! He's got no idea where he is, who he is or what day it is... Poor guy.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:30 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Tony Viikinki!
After the fight, Tony Viikinki was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly. |

He's just covering up now, not defending himself intelligently - Ayers looks towards the ref and unloads with 3 more big shots and the ref has no choice but to stop the fight! Moneymaker can't hide his disappointment, as Ayers celebrates the victory.

Ko Machine has his foot on Yes 's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Yes works his way back into a safe position though.
Yes postures up.
Yes must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Yes controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
It looks like Yes might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

Di Borgo Sabottino lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Moneymaker shoots in looking for a takedown. Di Borgo Sabottino tries to sprawl out of it but Moneymaker keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Di Borgo Sabottino manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

There's a worthy souvenir for the fans. This one is over folks. Moneymaker just didn't come prepared.
