Such looking to sit in guard and control but Bates gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. #REVR#

Such wants to hit a switch here but Bates passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Such there! #SU#
Bates gets to his feet and calls his opponent to stand. Here come the fireworks!
Bates shoots in but Such avoids the takedown attempt easily.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Such! But no joy.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Such stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Bates.

Bates wants to get back to his feet.
Rios in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time.
Rios wants to control but Bates is keeping him busy.
Rios lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Bates down.
Rios throws a strike aimed at the side of Bates's head but Bates avoids it well.#SUB2#
Rios goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Bates rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Rios's guard! Nice work there by Bates! #SU#
Bates gets to his feet - Rios follows without any prompting.
Rios has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by Bates.#KD#
Bates lands a big head kick that sends Rios tumbling to the mat! Bates takes a step backwards and waves Rios back to his feet - he wants the finish!#ROC#

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
