and Hughes cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.#CUT#
It looks like Pol Veri has been cut.
Hughes throws a series of punches but Veri moves out of range.
Veri gets clipped by a big right hand and goes down spinning to the canvas! Hughes gets the back mount and begins to drop bombs on his rocked foe! Veri is too out of it to defend against the strikes and the referee jumps in to save him from the beatdown!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:14 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Ricky Hughes!
Ricky Hughes is the new super heavyweight champion!

Veri has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Bell defend it? Veri steps over the head and cranks it - Bell is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Veri!

Bersten batters Voltare with a massive right followed by a huge left! Voltare is out on his feet looking like a zombie as Bersten lands a final crushing right hand to drop Voltare to the mat with a gruesome thud! Bersten is running around like a mad man after that fight and for good reason!
