Valentine throws a leg kick but Cruz moved away.
Some wild striking there from Cruz.
Cruz looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.
Cruz throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Valentine.
Valentine with the counter takedown but Cruz avoids it easily.
Valentine swings away with a leg kick that misses.
Cruz seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.
Valentine misses with a hook.
Valentine takes a swing at Cruz's ribcage but misses.
Valentine misses with a left hand
and Cruz counters with a two punch combo.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Valentine avoids a punch combination nicely.
And Valentine tries to counter it with a takedown but Cruz pushes his down on his head and steps out.

Cruz lands a takedown into guard.
Cruz pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Valentine is keeping the position for now.

Cruz wants to stand up, so he's looking to wriggle free of Valentine's closed guard. He's half up but Valentine has locked on to an arm! Uh oh! Valentine pivots and extends the arm, Cruz falls face first to the mat and taps??... does he?? YES! He's tapping! Excellent counter grappling there by Valentine! Well done that man!

Leon Valentine spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant.

Gerald throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Filipovic was covering up waiting for the punch and Gerald finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Gerald forces his way into half guard.
Filipovic is refusing to be controlled, as Gerald sits in half guard.
Filipovic wants to get back to full guard.
Gerald content to control rather than advance.
Gerald stops Filipovic from getting back to his feet.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Gerald wants to free his trapped foot but Filipovic is holding on for dear life with his legs.

Gerald frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount. #SUB2#
Gerald has hold of Filipovic's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Filipovic manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Gerald takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.#SUB2#
Gerald working from mount. He moves in close and looks like he might be going for an arm triangle... He's hopped off to the side and he's transitioned into an Anaconda choke. Filipovic turning a nasty shade of purple. He's refusing to tap but he's gone! He's out! The ref rips Gerald off and cradles Filipovic's limp body as Gerald celebrates with his corner.
