His life took a drastic turn when he had to defend himself during a violent altercation, relying on instinct and sheer will to survive while trying to survive his short stint in prison. That moment ignited a fire in him to learn how to fight. Training in MT and later earning a purple belt in BJJ, Eli transitioned into MMA.
