We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. GurtnerMcGary tries for a takedown but Mike circles away easily and Mike finishes the little exchange by landing a big kick to the body. Mike defends well against a solid takedown attempt from GurtnerMcGary. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Josynn GurtnerMcGary. That's going to take a lot out of him.#T1# GurtnerMcGary shoots in and drives through. Mike sprawls well. Mike steps in looking to counter with the mid kick but it doesn't connect. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Josynn GurtnerMcGary overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. GurtnerMcGary throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.

#R1# GurtnerMcGary looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. GurtnerMcGary fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Shear avoids it really well and circles away. GurtnerMcGary throws a nice head kick!
#CUT#It looks like Alba Shear has been cut. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.#TD2# Shear shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. GurtnerMcGary manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Shear not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. It looks like Shear might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.#T1# Shear trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Shear stopping the sweep attempt from GurtnerMcGary. Shear not doing a lot at the moment. Josynn GurtnerMcGary seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Shear tries to clinch up. GurtnerMcGary shoots in for a takedown. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. GurtnerMcGary stops Shear from passing to mount. GurtnerMcGary is looking for a sweep. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Shear works to advance to full mount. GurtnerMcGary defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

GurtnerMcGary is looking to stand back up but Shear counters by passing into half guard. GurtnerMcGary shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Ball sprawls well. Ball wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. GurtnerMcGary gets slowly back to his feet. Ball looks like he wants to counter punch here. Ball misses with a low kick.

Ball scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. GurtnerMcGary doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body. GurtnerMcGary is breathing heavily. GurtnerMcGary fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Good exchange - Ball coming out on top. Ball fails with an attempt to clinch.

Ball connects with a single shot there. Ball tries to clinch up. GurtnerMcGary takes one to the chin there. GurtnerMcGary is sent reeling backwards by a solid uppercut. He barely regains his balance and Ball moves in for the kill throwing a continuous barrage of punches that force the ref to step in.
