Volkanov should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete. Volkanov might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Surprenant haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time. Surprenant might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Our sources have told us that Dickerson has been working on his elbows in the gym. Dickerson tries to work over Volkanov's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target. Volkanov tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Dickerson tries to throw a body punch but Volkanov avoids it by throwing Dickerson back against the cage. Volkanov looking to slow down the pace here. Dickerson struggles to land a body shot inside as Volkanov controls his hands.

Asher Dickerson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Amare Volkanov. Volkanov is pushing Dickerson up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.
