Kovalev is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though. Rolando Bobas Neves has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Gedeon Kovalev. Stalling in the clinch from Bobas Neves.

Bobas Neves is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Kovalev to keep the fight standing.#T2##TD2# Kovalev jumps guard and drags Bobas Neves to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!#SUB2# Kovalev escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Bobas Neves gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Kovalev holds on and takes a little breather. Bobas Neves doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Bobas Neves manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. The crowd cheers as Bobas Neves lands an impressive looking overhand right. And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Rolando Bobas Neves. I think Bobas Neves has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

Kovalev is keeping the position for now. #SUB2# Kovalev is looking to cinch up a triangle. Quinn throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Kovalev's body to avoid the submission. Kovalev has instead reached around Quinn's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Kovalev arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.

#R1# No luck for Kovalev with that takedown attempt. #TD# A momentary lapse in concentration from Kovalev enables Mursurkaev to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Kovalev manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. Mursurkaev tries to free his leg and advance position but Kovalev is retaining full guard. Kovalev controls Mursurkaev momentarily but Mursurkaev frees himself. #ES2# Kovalev scrambles and gets back to his feet.
#TD# Mursurkaev bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Kovalev can't do much from the bottom here. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Kovalev tries to get back to half guard but can't. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.#T1# A lull in the action here.
