#R1# Zapata tries to clinch up but Jo circles away and keeps his distance.#CL2# Jo darts in and clinches Zapata up against the cage.#TD2# Jo pulls guard effortlessly. Jo pulls Zapata in close to his closed guard and prevents Zapata from doing any damage or advancing position. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Jo is on top in guard.
#REVB# We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Zapata tries to strike from the bottom.
Jo passes easily into side control. Nice work. A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet. #T1##SU2# Jo decides to stand back up. Zapata is looking to clinch. #TD2# Jo closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Zapata's guard. Jo passes into half guard. #SUB2# Jo in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Zapata tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Jo!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:38 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Jo Jo! Clark Zapata was interviewed post fight and said 'I will learn from this.'. |
