Horrible takedown attempt by Wong or perhaps it was just good defense by Aperahama, which made it look bad. A countering left hand to the body from Aperahama misses. Aperahama thuds a left hand into Wong's body. Wong fails to land the takedown. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for James Wong. That's going to take a lot out of him. Wong looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Wanis bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Wong's head. Wong avoids the head kick by Wanis.
Wanis lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin. Wanis keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Wong's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Wanis connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Wong scrambles back to his feet.
