#R1##TD2# Pennington fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Mcbride to the ground. Pennington is now in Mcbride's guard. Pennington controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Mcbride is trying to control the position but Pennington postures up. Pennington is stalling in the full guard. Mcbride is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Pennington seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.#T1##REF3# The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Pennington stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Pennington wants it to stay on the feet. Pennington avoids a lazy jab quite easily.#TD2# Pennington closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Mcbride to the mat! Mcbride manages to get full guard. Pennington showing good wrestling skills to control the position. Pennington has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Mcbride is proving hard to escape from. Pennington has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage. Pennington wants to take the fight to the mat but Mcbride manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch. Mcbride controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Mcbride trying to control the position from guard on top but Pennington is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. #T3# Pennington utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. #SUB2# Mcbride avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Pennington keeping moving, preventing Mcbride from controlling successfully. Mcbride knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Pennington on the ground.#SUB2# Pennington has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Mcbride can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Pennington is controlling Mcbride's posture.#T4# Mcbride showing good wrestling skills to control the position. Mcbride trying to control but Pennington is working from the bottom. Pennington pulls Mcbride in close to prevent any damage. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Brody Pennington dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.#R2# Mcbride feints a jab promting Pennington to slip. Mcbride then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Pennington slips again and ducks right into an uppercut. Pennington avoids the body shot from Mcbride.
Pennington is trying to avoid his opponent's strikes and get into the clinch. Mcbride lands with a straight right. Pennington didn't see that one coming. Pennington shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Mcbride sprawls well. Mcbride wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Pennington gets slowly back to his feet. Nice sprawl there from Mcbride as Pennington shoots in. Pennington uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Mcbride.

"I don't think so" says Mcbride as he avoids it easily. Mcbride was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger. Chad Mcbride has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Brody Pennington. Pennington fails with the takedown. Pennington shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Mcbride counters with a nice uppercut. Pennington shoots in and drives through. Mcbride sprawls well. It looked like Mcbride wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit. Mcbride throws a head kick that misses. And Pennington tries to counter it with a takedown but Mcbride pushes his down on his head and steps out.#TD2# Pennington shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Mcbride napping and manages to drive through into side control! The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.#SU2# Pennington decides to stand up, so the ref orders Mcbride to his feet. #T2# Pennington fails to land the takedown.#TD2# Pennington gets the takedown into side control. This has been an exciting period of action! Mcbride trying to control but Pennington flips him over like a cheap hooker and has his back!#SUB2# Pennington is working on the RNC. He looks like he's got it but Mcbride won't tap... Oh, he's out! The ref rips Pennington off his unconscious opponent!

#R1# Pennington tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Nurmagomedov swivels and escapes. Pennington shoots in looking for a takedown. Nurmagomedov tries to sprawl out of it but Pennington keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Nurmagomedov manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Pennington shoots for a double leg takedown but Nurmagomedov sprawls well. He's pushed Pennington's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Brody Pennington. That's going to take a lot out of him.#CL2# Nurmagomedov moves into the clinch successfully.
#BC2# Nurmagomedov pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Nurmagomedov shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Pennington sprawls well. Pennington will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.#SUB# Pennington looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Huus trying to control here but he's found himself mounted! Oh no!
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Pennington fails to move to back control. #SUB# Huus tries to improve his position but Pennington has taken his back! Pennington has a choke - it's sunk in pretty tight... Will Huus tap? No... maybe... yes! He's tapped! Pennington pushes Huus away and gets up to celebrate with his corner!

#R1##TD# Pennington closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Carranza to the mat! Carranza manages to get full guard. Pennington is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Pennington has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.#T1# Pennington seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Carranza for as long as he can get away with.#REF3# The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Carranza tries a head kick but it misses.
#TD# Pennington scores with a takedown into Carranza's guard.#SUB# Pennington is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Carranza is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Carranza has escaped and now he's on top! #REVB##T2# Pennington trying to control the position here. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Pennington continues to stall.#T3# Carranza stops Pennington from standing up. A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Pennington holds on and takes a little breather. Pennington wants to sweep but no luck. #T4# Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.#SUB# Pennington has his foot on Carranza's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Carranza works his way back into a safe position though. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Pennington is on top in guard.
