Sowler throws a series of punches but Poli moves out of range. Sowler comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. Sowler scores with a nice strike. Arun Sowler seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Poli takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him. Sowler lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Sowler. Sowler scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.#CL# Poli gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Sowler being controlled against the cage. The referee is keeping an eye on Poli - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Poli tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Sowler just stands there and leans against the cage.#BC# Poli breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Poli is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Sowler. Sowler throws a right and a left that Poli avoids nicely. #T1##TD# Poli fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Sowler sprawls well initially but Poli persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Poli stops Sowler from getting back to his feet.
Poli frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Poli looking to control and managing it successfully. #SU# Poli is standing up, even though he is in mount. Poli needs to keep his hands up - Sowler had a free shot at his head there. Sloppy strikes from Sowler. Those never looked like landing. Sowler misses with a jab, cross combination.
Poli really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.#T2# Sowler looks to land a left hand but Poli moved out of range nicely. Sowler misses with a few strikes there.
Sowler throws a right and a left that both miss. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Poli takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness. Sowler lands a jab to the head.
Arun Sowler is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. A nice combination there by Sowler.

#TD# and Poli counters with a single leg into guard. Sowler didn't expect that. Sowler is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Poli dives into side control.
Sowler looks winded!#REVB# The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Poli just content to control the position. Poli seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Sowler for as long as he can get away with.#T3# Sowler tries to wriggle free to get back to his feet but he's given up his back!
