Rhodes is trying to force a seperation but Gepte has the dominant position. Gepte swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Rhodes can't find room to land a body shot as Gepte controls the action.
Gepte has Rhodes pressed against the cage.
Gepte scores a nice knee to the body.
Rhodes throws a head punch that misses. Rhodes gets underhooks to prevent Gepte's takedown attempt.
Rhodes working on landing some head shots here - that one got through nicely. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Rhodes lands with a left to the head. Rhodes wants to break free but Gepte has control.

Gepte tries to pass the half guard into mount. Rhodes knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. Gepte trying to control the action but Rhodes is working from the bottom. Gepte passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Rhodes! Poor strikes thrown by Gepte there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!

Gepte is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Rhodes regains control of the situation pretty easily.

The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Rhodes manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Gepte has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Gepte wants to lay and pray for a moment but Rhodes keeps working. Rhodes on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Rhodes tries to get out of the position. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

After the fight, Chad Gepte was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly. |
