#R1# Walker throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. A big left from Walker misses. Gambino follows through with a counter body kick but it doesn't land. Walker misses with a looping left. Gambino throws a fast counter high kick but Walker manages to duck under it in time. Walker dives in and grabs Gambino's left leg, looking for a takedown. Gambino pushes down on Walker's head and hops out. Gambino raises up his leg as if looking to counter with a high kick. Gambino dodges the punch combination from Walker.
Walker tries to bum rush Gambino with a series of wild strikes but Gambino uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Walker shoots and misses and Gambino counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Walker is lucky that one didn't land flush. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Gambino keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Walker. Gambino lands with a slapping head kick. No luck for Walker with that takedown attempt. Gambino throws a fast counter high kick but Walker manages to duck under it in time. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mike Walker. That's going to take a lot out of him.#T1# Gambino bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Gambino shapes to counter with a head kick. Walker waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Gambino. Gambino throws a big counter head kick but Walker avoids it with no problem. Gambino has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout. Walker throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Gambino's waist but Gambino gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Walker off to one side. Gambino goes for a high kick. It partially lands. Walker tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Gambino swivels and escapes. Gambino stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Gambino wants it to stay on the feet. Gambino is clearly looking to counter with head kicks. Walker is breathing heavily. Gambino throws a head kick that half lands.
A low kick from Walker is predictable there and Gambino finishes the little exchange by landing a big kick to the body. Walker shoots in and drives through. Gambino sprawls well. Gambino is trying to counter with his kicks. Walker throws an ugly left hook that misses

Gambino is clearly looking to counter with head kicks.#T2# Gambino throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Walker. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Walker throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Gambino throws a big counter head kick but Walker avoids it with no problem. Walker misses with a hook. Gambino ducked under it nicely. Despite the aggression on Gambino's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter. Gambino displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Walker. Gambino throws a head kick that half lands.
Walker shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Gambino as he jumps to the side. #T3# Gambino ducks under a wild hook from Walker. Walker feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Gambinos jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist! Gambino slips under a jab. Walker shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Gambino as he jumps to the side. Walker throws out a loose jab but Gambino uses good head movement to avoid it. Gambino throws a big counter head kick but Walker avoids it with no problem. Mike Walker seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Gambino takes one to the chin there. Walker shoots and misses and Gambino counters with a head kick. Walker looks to land a right hand but Gambino moved out of range. Walker with a lazy takedown attempt and Gambino counters with a head kick. #T4# Walker rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Gambino moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Gambino is clearly looking to counter with head kicks. Walker has a takedown stuffed. Gambino looks like he wanted to counter with a high kick but didn't throw it. Gambino connects with a high kick. Walker throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Gambino counters with a solid body kick. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Gambino tries a head kick but it misses.
Walker tries for a takedown but Gambino circles away easily and Gambino counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Walker is lucky that one didn't land flush. Walker sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Johnny Gambino dominated that round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.#R2# Gambino throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body. Walker jabbing away but nothing is landing. Walker throws a lazy uppercut
and Gambino counters with a good, hard body kick but Walker shrugs it off. #TD# Excellent takedown into side control there by Walker. Gambino is pushing Walker's head away, looking to escape. Walker manages to hold on to the position though. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Walker creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Gambino sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Gambino avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Walker. Gambino is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Walker is controlling him well.#T1# Walker in side control lands a decent elbow. Walker has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.#ES2# Gambino bucks up and manages to escape back to his feet! Walker fails with the takedown and Gambino counters with a body kick. Walker doesn't succeed with the takedown and Gambino counters with a head kick. Johnny Gambino seems to be getting the better of the standup. Walker shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Gambino counters with a flying knee. Nice. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mike Walker. That's going to take a lot out of him. Nice sprawl there from Gambino as Walker shoots in. Gambino bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Gambino lands a head kick. Walker smiles back at him and beckons him forward. Walker shoots in for a takedown but Gambino shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Gambino follows through with a counter body kick but it doesn't land. Gambino lands a high kick!
#ROC2#Walker is rocked! Walker gets hit by the mother of all head kicks and drops to the canvas in a crumpled heap! Woooow, the Internet is going to be talking about this one for weeks!

#R1# Heath misses with a head kick.
#TD# Walker closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Heath quickly recovers to half guard. Well, if Walker is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight� I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza� Yum. Can't wait.
Heath is trying to get back to full guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Walker looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.#T1##SUB# Walker is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. #SUB# Walker maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Heath could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Walker has cracked it and Heath is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Walker!

#R1# Walker lands with a straight right. Bright didn't see that one coming. Bright takes one on the button. Bright takes a body punch but keeps moving. Bright tries to close the distance and clinch but Walker swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Bright on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere. Bright tries to clinch but Walker moves out of range. Walker's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Walker duly obliges. #CL# Bright has Walker up against the cage in a clinch.
Walker is trying to break the clinch but Bright has him pressed against the cage. #TD# Bright has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Walker uses from the top position. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!#SUB# Bright looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
#SU2# Bright is working an open guard so Walker takes the opportunity to get back to his feet. Nice cross by Walker.#T1# Walker feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Brights jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist! Walker lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw. Walker is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.#ROC2#Bright is rocked! Walker sees an opening and throws a straight punch right through Bright's defenses. It connects perfectly with Bright's jaw and knocks him out cold! Wow - that's a contender for knockout of the year - absolutely brutal!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:21 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Mike Walker! Mike Walker spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant. |
