#R1# Acosta with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Watson to score with a decent uppercut.#CL# Acosta has closed the distance and engaged Watson in a clinch.
#BC# Acosta breaks the clinch.
Watson slaps away a takedown attempt from Acosta, before circling back to the center of the mat. Watson throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd. Watson digs a good body shot into Acosta's ribs. Acosta is breathing heavily. Watson displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Acosta. Watson moves into range and connects with a jab. #TD2# Acosta gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. This has been an exciting period of action!#SUB# Acosta has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Watson is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Acosta. Watson takes a little break here. Acosta wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.#T1# Acosta can't do much from the bottom here. Acosta stops Watson from passing to mount. #SU2# Watson stands up and we're back to a striking position. Watson lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
#T2# Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Watson throws out a powerful jab. Watson thuds his right hand into Acosta's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters. Acosta misses with a takedown and Watson counters with a massive hook, right on the button! He's out cold! Damn, that was naaaaaasty! Hopefully he'll be OK.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:22 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). King Watson! |
