Wei Ting avoids the head kick by Bowman.
Wei Ting ducks down and throws a hook to the body. Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Bowman. A shot to the liver by Wei Ting. Beautiful body shot.#TD2# Bowman gets a takedown into half guard. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Bowman stalling. Bowman not landing any meaningful shots this time. #T1# Bowman controlling the action here.#SUB2# Bowman is working for a kimura but Wei Ting is defending it quite comfortably.
#SUB2# Bowman is looking for a kimura but Wei Ting is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Bowman to get the leverage. #T2# The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Bowman thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Bowman is controlling the pace.
Bowman trying to mount his opponent but Wei Ting defends it. Wei Ting wants to get back to his feet.#T3# Bowman working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. Bowman not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Bowman is looking to advance position but Wei Ting won't allow it. Bowman is figuring out what he wants to do next. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Bowman slips a nice elbow through Wei Ting's hands, connecting with Wei Ting's forehead.#T4# My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Bowman works his way into side control. #SU2# Bowman stands up and beckons Wei Ting to his feet. Wei Ting falls off balance throwing a combination
and Bowman counters with a solid body kick. Wei Ting is breathing heavily.#TD2# Bowman shoots in and gets a takedown into Wei Ting's guard. Bowman content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. Bowman has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Bowman slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.#SU2# Bowman decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Wei Ting, up you get! And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Desmond Bowman dominated that round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!#R2##TD2# Bowman closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Wei Ting did well to prevent Bowman getting side control. Bowman content to control rather than advance. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Bowman works his way into side control. A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet. Wei Ting knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Bowman on the ground. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.#SU2# Bowman decides to take the fight back to the feet. #TD2# Bowman gets the takedown into side control. Wei Ting wants to get back to his feet but Bowman is dominant here and he's now got Wei Ting's back!#T1##SUB2# Bowman is working for the choke. He's slipped one arm under the chin. Wei Ting has to defend the other arm for all he's worth... but Bowman has managed to get that arm free too and he's tightening the choke! Wei Ting taps out and looks absolutely disgusted with himself. Bowman doesn't care though - he's delighted!
