The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Chavez wants to control from the top but Wright keeps moving. Chavez stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Wright swivels though and keeps the full guard. Chavez wants to control from the top but Wright keeps moving. Wright manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage. I was talking to Chavez's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.#TD# Chavez turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!
Wright bucks up and manages to escape back to his feet! Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Wright lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
