Sakuraba sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Gigante shoots in for a double leg but Sakuraba sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Tout Petit Gigante. That's going to take a lot out of him.#TD# Gigante throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. #R1# Mogamedov misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Sakuraba throws a head kick that misses. Mogamedov throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Sakuraba's waist but Sakuraba gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Mogamedov off to one side. Sakuraba looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it. Sakuraba throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Mogamedov on the side of the head. Mogamedov has his takedown stuffed and Sakuraba counters with a nice uppercut. #ROC2#Mogamedov is rocked!#CUT2#It looks like Habib Mogamedov has been cut. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Habib Mogamedov. That's going to take a lot out of him. Mogamedov misses with a double jab

A big right from Soares misses. Sakuraba swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect. Sakuraba darts in and out, connecting with a jab. A swing and a miss from Soares. Sakuraba bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Soares fails to land the takedown. Sakuraba misses with a straight left. We've been hearing reports that Sakuraba has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Soares shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Sakuraba but Sakuraba pushes him off and we're back to square one. Soares jabbing away but nothing is landing. A left lands for Sakuraba.#T1# Soares shoots in but Sakuraba avoids the takedown attempt easily. Sakuraba swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect. Taisei Sakuraba has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Thalys Soares. Sakuraba looks to land a right hand but Soares moved out of range. Soares uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Sakuraba. That was a close round but I would say that Taisei Sakuraba will probably get the nod. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!#R2# Soares looks to land a left hand but Sakuraba moved out of range nicely. Sakuraba wants to get back to full guard but Soares has passed into side control. Sakuraba is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Soares landing strikes. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. You can see the frustration on Sakuraba's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. And that is the end of the round. Soares looks to land a right hand but Sakuraba moved out of range. Sakuraba throws out a loose jab but Soares uses good head movement to avoid it. Soares just misses with a punch to the body.

Sakuraba seems a little lost for a moment, as Soares dominates the positioning. Soares wants to lay and pray for a moment but Sakuraba keeps working. Soares was waiting for it though - now Sakuraba's arm is in the perfect position for an arm triangle - he's tightening it up and Sakuraba is forced to tap out before he takes a nap! #R1# Fitzpatrick moves out of range of the strikes. Sakuraba lands a really nice looking cross but Fitzpatrick seems unphased.
#CUT2#It looks like Jason Fitzpatrick has been cut. Sakuraba showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Fitzpatrick.
Sakuraba with the counter takedown but Fitzpatrick avoids it easily. Sakuraba lands a nice looking kick to the body. Fitzpatrick takes a step back to recover. Fitzpatrick throws a head kick but Sakuraba moves out of range.
Sakuraba is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Fitzpatrick takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh. Fitzpatrick darts in looking for a takedown but Sakuraba gets double underhooks and turns Fitzpatrick into the ropes. We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Sakuraba has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.#TD2# Sakuraba has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Fitzpatrick clear over his head and slammed him to the mat! The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Sakuraba just keeping the dominant position. He can't wait too long though, otherwise the referee will stand them back up.
