#R1# Freeman shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Bear pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Freeman drops down looking for a counter takedown but Bear sprawls and moves away. Freeman takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily. Good leg kick by Bear. Freeman takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
Shaggy Bear seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Freeman has a takedown stuffed. Bear only half commits to the counter leg kick. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.#TD# Freeman looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Bear! Bear really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Freeman. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.#T1##SUB# Freeman tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Freeman has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! #SUB# Freeman has hold of Bear's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Bear tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Freeman cranks the arm and Bear screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Bear, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:29 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Franco Freeman! |
