#R1# George ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Friendly moves away. George tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Friendly manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. George ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. George shoots and misses and Friendly counters with a lovely straight right hand! George tries to clinch up. Friendly seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance. George ducks under a wild hook from Friendly. Friendly connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son. Friendly looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. George pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way. George misses with a takedown #CL# and Friendly counters by clinching up. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. George fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Barnabus Friendly has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jay George. Friendly works for underhooks and lands a body shot in the process.

Friendly seems to have come into the fight with the intention of avoiding any damage in the clinch, rather than actually showing any aggression. A body shot lands from Friendly.

Friendly smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button. George is still on wobbly legs! Can Friendly finish him? Some bone on bone action there as George checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one. Friendly cracks George on the jaw with a powerful right hand and George falls backwards against the cage. Friendly follows up with more strikes that drop George to his knees. Friendly keeps the pressure on and the referee jumps in to save George! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:23 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Barnabus Friendly! Barnabus Friendly decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way. |

#R1##CL# George darts in and clinches Murkovitch up against the cage. Murkovitch is trying to pull guard but George has him pressed against the cage. Murkovitch blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.#BC# George manages to break the clinch.
#TD2# Murkovitch looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. George on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if George tries to get out of the position. Murkovitch moves nicely into side control. George prevents Murkovitch from improving position. George can't do much from the bottom here. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. George is not content to let Murkovitch control the position. George wants to control but Murkovitch postures up.#T1# Murkovitch wants to control but George is keeping him busy. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. George is looking to regain half guard here but Murkovitch keeps moving and retains side control. George prevents Murkovitch from improving position. #T2# There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Murkovitch is looking to take a break and control but George is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. #T3# Murkovitch looks up at the clock and then as George takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Murkovitch smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

Let's hope that Murkovitch has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight. It looks like Murkovitch might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.#T4# The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. George is trying to improve his position. George is not content to let Murkovitch control the position. The referee is pacing around the two fighters, thinking about a standup. Murkovitch scoring with punches from side control. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Murkovitch trying to control the action but George is working from the bottom. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Merab Murkovitch dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.#R2# George looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Murkovitch will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.#TD2# Murkovitch darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. George pushes Murkovitch off looking to stand but Murkovitch dives back in and keeps control.

Murkovitch is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for George! We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. George's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up. Murkovitch content just to control the position here. Murkovitch wants to control the pace but George is squirming around nicely. #T2# Murkovitch controlling the pace for now. George tries to get back to half guard but can't. Murkovitch controlling his opponent. George wants to control but Murkovitch is having none of it. George is squirming around, avoiding Murkovitch's attempts to control the action. George has given up his back - I don�t know if this is a deliberate ploy to try and escape or if he is just struggling down there.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:25 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Merab Murkovitch! Merab Murkovitch decided to hype himself up post fight. It was going well but he went on about it a bit too long and the crowd turned on him a little. |
