Sandman throws a jab when Li was well out of range. Li throws a right and a left that Sandman avoids nicely. Li lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin. Li swings for the body but Sandman moves out of range.
Sandman stuns Li with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range. Sandman throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

#R1# Marsh throws a body punch but Li moves out of range. Li blocks a jab. Li feinted with a counter takedown. Marsh throws a head kick but Li moves out of range.
Marsh fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Li half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range. Marsh tries to clinch up against the ropes, rushing in to close the distance. Li manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Li tries to counter with a takedown but Marsh is quick to defend against it.#CL2# Marsh moves into the clinch.#BC# Li pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Oliver Marsh seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Marsh is looking to clinch but Li is avoiding it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Li gets cracked there but stands up to it.

#R1# We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight. Schmitt shoots in but no luck this time. #TD2# Schmitt shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Li manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. Schmitt won't allow Li to sweep him here. Schmitt wants to control from the top but Li keeps moving. Schmitt stopping the sweep attempt from Li. Schmitt must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Schmitt told us pre-fight that he has been working on his escapes in training. Let's see if he can call on some of his new skills to get back to his feet. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Schmitt's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Schmitt working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound. #SUB# Li looking to try and escape his hips here, looking for a submission. It looks like he's going for a triangle but Schmitt is defending well. Li quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Schmitt has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Li celebrates on the ropes, with the crowd.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Sandman moves into full mount! Li won't be happy about that! Li sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though. Sandman is nestled in close to Li, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.#T5# The two fighters exchange a few words. Sandman keeping moving, preventing Li from controlling successfully. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Sandman looking to hit a scissor sweep but Li is one step ahead there. Li has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.#T9# Sandman keeping full guard, as Li tries to pass. Li content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. Li distracts Sandman with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Sandman not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Sandman wants to sweep here but Li controlling him for the moment. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Li in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Mr Sandman. I think Sandman has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

Li feints the counter takedown. Riggs lands with a good body shot. Riggs throws a right and a left that both miss. Riggs looks to throw the jab but Li is out of range. Li changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt. Riggs misses with a hook to the body
#TD2# and Li counters with a takedown into side control. Li is putting a hurting on Riggs here, landing some big shots from side control. Li working away. Li scores with a couple of short elbows. Li working away. Li connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Riggs some visible discomfort.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Riggs is not content to let Li control the position. Li lands some shots froms side control.#T1# Li lands a nice forearm strike. You can see the frustration on Riggs's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Li working his ground and pound in the gym. So far it seems to be working well. Riggs parries the strikes from Li easily there. Li is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Riggs to escape.

Murdermanis sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard. Li controlling the action here. Murdermanis is trying to maintain the position but Li is very close to passing his half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Murdermanis tries to roll over but Li keeps him under control. Li slips a nice elbow through Murdermanis's hands, connecting with Murdermanis's forehead. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Li scores with a couple of good hammerfists. Murdermanis regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Li. #SUB2# Murdermanis looking for a triangle here. Li is fighting it but it looks tight! Murdermanis pulls the arm across and this one won't last much longer! Nope, Li is tapping out - this one is all over!
