Picadura shoots in looking for a takedown. Romero tries to sprawl out of it but Picadura keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Romero manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Picadura tries to work over Romero's front leg with a kick but Romero checks it.
A nice side step and Romero releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home.
Romero lands a right hook to the body.
Picadura misses with a right hand
and Romero counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Picadura misses with a head kick.
Romero now looks to counter with a shot at the body.
Picadura throws a sloppy head kick and Romero moves out of range easily.
Picadura is breathing heavily.
Romero lands a slapping body shot.
Romero scores with a sloppy right hand. Picadura should have avoided that one.
Romero cracks Picadura with a big right hand that sees him stumbling back against the cage! Picadura falls to his knees and Romero doesn't need a second invitatation - he rushes in and fires off several unanswered shots that force the referee to stop the fight! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:43 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Roberto Romero!
Roberto Romero bigged himself up after the win. The crowd seemed to love it.

Redd is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Well Redd has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
