Toney with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Washington to score with a decent uppercut.
Toney tries to clinch but fails miserably
and Washington counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.#KD2#
Washington feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Toney sprawling to the canvas! Toney rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Washington finish him?! #ROC2#Toney is rocked!
James Toney seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Washington moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.

In his post fight interview, Adan Washington started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.

Ford tries to clinch but Washington moves away
and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.#TD#
Ford feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Ford passes Washington's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Ford tries to pass the half guard into mount. Washington knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Washington looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Washington is holding on to half guard well.

Ford looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Washington lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Washington.#CUT#It looks like Ignacio Nuevos has been cut.
Nuevos throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
Washington lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Nuevos tries to close the distance and clinch up but Washington swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Washington avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Nuevos avoids the head kick by Washington.
No joy there for Nuevos, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Washington throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Nuevos waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Washington.
Nuevos misses with a body shot.
Sloppy strikes from Washington. Those never looked like landing.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Washington fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.

Washington takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.

We've been told by Washington's head coaches at Honu Arts that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.

and Nuevos decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Washington's guard.
Washington tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Nuevos working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Washington trying to keep a closed guard but Nuevos is proving a slippery customer.
Washington knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Nuevos on the ground.
Washington wants to get back to his feet but Nuevos passes into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Nuevos looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Washington with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Nuevos working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. #ROC2#Washington is rocked!

Nuevos is sitting in half guard. He's postured up and lands a nice elbow. Oh, Washington is hurt! He's hurt bad - Nuevos fires away with more strikes and the referee jumps in to save Washington from any more punishment! Congratulations to Nuevos! Great finish!

Ignacio Nuevos bigged himself up after the win. The crowd seemed to love it.

Nice body kick there by Washington.
Washington uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Stein.
A looping hook to the body misses from Washington. Stein does a little dance to reset his feet.
Washington throws the kick towards the body but Stein avoids it.
Washington lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
Washington works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
Washington feints and then cracks Stein's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Stein down.
Washington throws a right and a left that Stein avoids nicely.
Washington lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

and Stein counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Washington moves away from the strike by Stein.
Washington fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Stein has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

Washington ducks down and throws a big overhand right - it lands flush on the jaw, knocking Stein out cold! The fight is over!
