Horrible takedown attempt by Rinaudo or perhaps it was just good defense by Sheppard, which made it look bad.
Sheppard fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.#TD#
Rinaudo shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Rinaudo showed some decent athleticism there.

Sheppard has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but Rinaudo is on him like a limpet, forcing Sheppard back against the cage.

Sheppard wants to get back to striking at distance but Rinaudo won't allow it.
We've been hearing reports that Rinaudo has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.
Rinaudo changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Sheppard fights it off and pushes away nicely.

Sheppard connects with a good straight punch right through the guard and follows up with a right hook and a left hook! That last one sent Rinaudo tumbling to the canvas! Sheppard pours on the pressure with more strikes and the referee has no hesitation diving in to stop the fight! Rinaudo was done - good stoppage!

John Sheppard spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant.

Wade Kinsella has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Matthew Rinaudo.
Kinsella bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Rinaudo's head backwards.

Rinaudo takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.

A jab from Kinsella finds it's way through Rinaudo's defenses.
Kinsella throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Rinaudo stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Kinsella and Rinaudo are patiently standing in front of each other looking for an opening. Kinsella throws a head kick. It's landed, knocking Rinaudo into next week! Ooooh that was huge! Kinsella knows it - he's on the cage flexing is biceps. That's a bit weird considering he won by kick but whatever.
