Some wild striking there from Squalli.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Squalli drops Longboat with a beautiful combination! Longboat stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Squalli is looking for the KO!#CUT#It looks like Johnny Longboat has been cut.
Squalli throws a 1-2 combo that connects squarely on Longboat's jaw, knocking him onto his back! Squalli dives in looking to finish as Longboat flails his arms in a desperate attempt to block Squalli's strikes! Squalli is raining down hammerfists and the ref stops it! Longboat's desperate flailing just didn't constitute intelligent defence. Some people will probably question the ref's decision but Longboat was definitely hurt and the ref saved him from taking unnecessary punishment. A fighter's safety is paramount in this sport.

Hiroshima Nagasaki was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.

Squalli catches Longboat with a right, a left, a right. It's raining punches and Longboat forgot an umbrella! Another punch and he's down. This one is over!

Let's hope that Longboat has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Longboat's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
