Cruz lands a glancing blow to the side of Barny's head.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
Barny closes this distance looking for a takedown but Cruz circles away.
Barny shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Cruz as he avoids it easily.
Cruz changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.
Cruz connects with a leg kick.
Cruz connects with a jab.
Barny fails with a takedown attempt.
Cruz tries to counter with a takedown but Barny is quick to defend against it.
Timo Cruz has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Blessed Barny.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Barny takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.

Cruz lands with a straight right. Barny didn't see that one coming.

Barny bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Cruz wants to get back to his feet but Barny drags him back down.
Cruz takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Barny landing with strikes to the head and body from side control.
Barny lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Cruz down.
Barny in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Cruz is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Barny is controlling him well.
Barny looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Barny in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time.
Cruz is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Barny has just dragged him back down to the mat.
Barny in side control lands a decent elbow.
Cruz takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.

Barny has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Cruz!
Cruz knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Barny on the ground.#SUB2#
Barny working for a submission but Cruz is keeping him at bay.
Barny is in full mount looking to finish with strikes. He lands a big shot, followed by another and Cruz goes limp! The ref jumps in to end the fight - a big win for Barny!

After the fight, Blessed Barny was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly. |
