#R1# Morientes shoots in but no luck this time. Dos Santos fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.#TD2# Dos Santos is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Morientes's half guard. Morientes trying to control from the bottom.
Dos Santos wants to pass the guard but Morientes is defending well. Morientes is looking for a sweep. Dos Santos is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Dos Santos is trying to control. Morientes wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Dos Santos works his way into full mount! We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Dos Santos has eaten all the pies! Dos Santos sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. #T1# Morientes tries to hold on but Dos Santos postures up. Dos Santos trying to control but he's not successful this time. Dos Santos looking to control but Morientes is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. #T2# Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Dos Santos controlling from mount. Morientes regains half guard. Morientes wants to control but Dos Santos is keeping busy and won't allow it. Morientes is in a bad position, trying to hold on for dear life but he is really struggling to maintain any sort of control. Dos Santos is just content to waste time from the top position. Morientes takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard. Dos Santos stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Morientes swivels though and keeps the full guard. Dos Santos is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.#REF3# The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Morientes closes this distance looking for a takedown but Dos Santos circles away.#T4# There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Dos Santos throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Morientes. As Dos Santos looks to move away, Morientes throws a big counter combo but Dos Santos just gets out of the way.#CL# Morientes closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Dos Santos tries to score a body lock takedown but Morientes shows good agility there to stay on his feet.#BC# Morientes breaks the clinch.

Dos Santos has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Dos Santos displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Morientes. Morientes wants to stand but Dos Santos is controlling the position. #T4# The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Dos Santos pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Morientes is keeping the position for now. Morientes pulls Dos Santos in to control the position. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. That was a close second round but I would say that Alejandro Morientes will probably get the nod. That's time! Morientes's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. #R1# Santos tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Morientes swivels and escapes. Santos throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Morientes's waist but Morientes gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Santos off to one side. #TD# Santos gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Morientes to score an easy takedown into full guard. Morientes stays in close to Santos's body and controls the position. Santos wants to get back to his feet but Morientes is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Santos is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Santos looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Santos is looking to sweep but instead, Morientes has passed into half guard.
#T1# Morientes content to sit in half guard and control for a moment. Santos is trying to maintain the position but Morientes is very close to passing his half guard. Santos wants to get back to full guard. Morientes seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. Morientes stalling. Morientes wants to stand but Santos has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now. Morientes takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.#T1# Morientes has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. Morientes is looking to stall here but Santos recovers full guard. Morientes is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. #SUB2# Santos had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Morientes doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Morientes manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. #ES2# Santos has managed to wall walk up one of the corner posts to get back to his feet. Morientes is pushing him up against the cage, looking to control the position. Morientes goes for a body shot but it's blocked.

That's better than Morientes was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Santos is trying to buck Morientes off. Santos is breathing heavily. Santos trying to remain calm as Morientes controls from the top position. Santos throws a couple of strikes even though he's not really in a good position to do so.

Santos misses with a takedown attempt - Morientes sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.#TD# Morientes closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Morientes just content to control the position. Morientes trying to control the position but Santos is working away. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. The crowd are loving this.
