The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Khumpai throws a series of strikes that have Ameed backpedaling.
Ameed shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Khumpai but Khumpai pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Khumpai lands with a kick to the ribs.
Khumpai swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Ameed tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.
Khumpai looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Pann Khumpai seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Ameed on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Ameed throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Khumpai tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Ameed is in Khumpai's guard.
Ameed slips nicely into half guard.
Khumpai wants to get back to his feet.
Ameed wants to pass to mount but Khumpai is defending the position.

Ameed is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Khumpai doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Ameed.
In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Ameed working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though.#SUB2#
Ameed is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. #T2#
Ameed looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Khumpai with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Ameed has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.#SUB2#

and Harris counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Harris throws a shot from downtown. Ameed moves away and avoids it.
And Ameed tries to counter it with a takedown but Harris pushes his down on his head and steps out.
Rolf Harris seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Ameed ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Ameed drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Harris defends it well.
A swing and a miss from Harris.

Harris swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Ameed changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.
Ameed takes one to the chin there.#CUT#It looks like Nebhed Ameed has been cut.
Ameed gets cracked there but stands up to it.

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Ameed working from mount. He moves in close and looks like he might be going for an arm triangle... He's hopped off to the side and he's transitioned into an Anaconda choke. Harris turning a nasty shade of purple. He's refusing to tap but he's gone! He's out! The ref rips Ameed off and cradles Harris's limp body as Ameed celebrates with his corner.
