McManus throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
McManus clinches up against the cage.
Smith jumps guard but McManus stands there with Smith around his waist. Smith gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
McManus lands a body punch in the clinch.
McManus struggles to land a body shot inside as Smith controls his hands.
A right hook to the body lands for McManus.
McManus misses with some punches.
Smith tries to pull guard but McManus won't allow it.
McManus lands a left hand that snaps the head of Smith backwards.
A right handed body shot lands from McManus.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
McManus scores with an uppercut up the middle.
McManus cracks Smith with a nice body shot.
Smith is breathing heavily.
McManus lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.
McManus dips a shoulder and cracks Smith with a mighty uppercut! Smith falls back against the cage and McManus unloads with a barrage of strikes! Smith is completely out with his eyes open, only supported by the cage! Save him ref! Eventually the ref decides to do his job and jumps in - McManus screams abuse at the incompetent official before going over to celebrate with his corner. Brutal stuff!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smith darts in looking for a takedown but White gets double underhooks and turns Smith into the cage.
White rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Smith moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
White closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Smith's guard.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Smith holds on and takes a little breather.
White advances to half guard.
White tries to pass to full mount but Smith defends it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. White connects with a nice short shot to Smith's temple.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
White stops Smith from getting back to his feet.
White has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Smith wants to get back to full guard.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

White wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Smith, who protects the arm well.
White thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

White tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no White has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Smith manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!

Kneeeeees! The crowd are calling for knees to the body. Smith obliges.

Patty B shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Smith as he avoids it easily.
Patty B shoots in looking for a takedown. Smith tries to sprawl out of it but Patty B keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Smith manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Patty B tries to score a power double leg takedown but Smith sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Patty B somewhat.
