The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Barnes takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Rapp lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Barnes circles away quickly and effectively.
Barnes misses with a wild body shot.
Rapp throws out a counter right but Barnes avoids it with no problem.
Rapp lunges at Barnes with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Barnes's hand.
Rapp is stalking Barnes. Barnes circles to his left. Keeps circling left. Bam! Straight right from Rapp, and it's lights out! Barnes really payed the price for that rookie mistake.

Bonny darts in and clinches Barnes up against the ropes.
Bonny lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.
Bonny lands a hook that snaps the head of Barnes backwards.
Bonny tries a body shot but Barnes blocks it.
Barnes doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
Bonny is struggling to control the position.
Barnes is trying to force a seperation but Bonny has the dominant position.
Barnes looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Bonny lands with a short punch from the clinch.
Barnes goes for a body shot but it's blocked.

Barnes's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Bonny lands with a nice body punch.
Bonny moves out of range of the strikes.
Bonny tried to counter with a leg kick but Barnes avoided it.
Bonny feints a jab promting Barnes to slip. Bonny then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Barnes slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
Barnes avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Good exchange - Bonny coming out on top.
Bonny looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
William Bonny seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Vaughan scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
Vaughan swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Barnes waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Vaughan .
Vaughan darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
Barnes drops his hands momentarily. Vaughan doesn't need a second invitation, landing a shot to the temple. Barnes staggers and falls to the mat and the ref dives in to save him from any more punishment. Barnes doesn't seem happy with the stoppage but he was done.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:15 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Shane Vaughan !
In his post fight interview, Shane Vaughan started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception. |
