Thunder has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Fox's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Thunder connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Fox scrambles back to his feet.#CUT2#It looks like Jim Fox has been cut.
Thunder tries to clinch up but Fox circles away and keeps his distance.

Thunder lands an unnecessary shot before the referee has time to step in and end the fight. Brutal stuff but I'm sure Fox will be OK.

Cortez is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Thunder .
Thunder appears to be looking for a big counter.
Cortez misses with the combination.
Cortez shoots for a double leg takedown but Thunder sprawls well. He's pushed Cortez's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Cortez is trying hard to land a takedown here. Thunder sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
John Thunder has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Don Cortez.
Cortez changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Thunder tries to avoid it but Cortez manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Thunder to the ground. Thunder escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
