This has been an exciting period of action!
Bates gets to his feet and stands over Salazar, holding his ankles. He dives in with a big left hand that connects! Salazar felt that one! Bates unloads more punches and elbows and this one is over! The ref has dived in to save Salazar from any more punishment!

Berggren has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Bates misses with a knee to the head.

Bates really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Berggren. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

DaSystem working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
DaSystem is trying to control the action in half guard but Bates is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. #ES#
Bates has one foot on DaSystem's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.
Bates takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
