AL shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Sully as he avoids it easily.
AL shoots and misses
and Sully counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Sully connects with a looping right hand.
AL has his takedown stuffed
and Sully counters with a huge left! AL is in big trouble! He's backing up but Sully isn't giving him chance to recover. Under a barage of punches the ref has to step in to save AL from any more damage. A dominating finish by Sully!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:22 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Capt Sully!

AL shoots in and bounces Monsanto off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
AL is standing up over Monsanto. Monsanto looks to escape but AL dives into side control. #REVB##SUB#
AL has hold of Monsanto's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Monsanto tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - AL cranks the arm and Monsanto screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Monsanto, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:29 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). AL AL!

AL manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Bell on his heels. He'll look to pass Bell's guard now, I'm sure.
Bell will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Bell wants to get back to his feet but AL is in a dominant position and won't allow it. #SUB2#
AL drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and AL jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
AL seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

AL wants to control for a moment but Bell uses the opportunity to move back to half guard.
Bell is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment.

Bell fails to land the takedown.
Bell changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. AL tries to avoid it but Bell manages to keep hold of a leg and drag AL to the ground. AL escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. #TD2#

AL tries to pass the half guard into mount. Bell knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
AL seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Bell does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
AL uses his free foot to push down on Bell's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Bell.

AL is working to tighten his grip on Bell's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Bell has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but AL is really squeezing tight and eventually Bell passes out! AL breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
