and Rainer takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Goodwill has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance. Rainer on the wrong end of a nice jab. Rainer lands a really nice looking cross but Goodwill seems unphased.

#R1# Rainer moves in looking to clinch but Emelianenko pushes him off. Emelianenko on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere. Rainer throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
#CL2# and Emelianenko moves into the clinch. Rainer drops down looking for an ankle pick but Emelianenko pulls his leg out and moves away.
Emelianenko gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Rainer counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Rainer fails to land with a series of punches.

It looks like Emelianenko might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it. Emelianenko moves into full mount! Rainer won't be happy about that! The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.#T2# Emelianenko sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. Emelianenko should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete. Emelianenko unloading with bombs!
