McDonald leaves Jung with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
McDonald lands a right hook to the body.
Jung could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

It looks like Seunkyo Jung has been cut.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
McDonald stands up over Jung, holding on to his feet. McDonald throws the legs to one side and dives in with a huge shot that lands flush on the chin! Jung is out cold! McDonald lands a couple more shots and the ref tackles him out of the way! What a brutal finish!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:50 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Jim Bob McDonald!

In his post fight interview, Jim Bob McDonald started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.

Bluth tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Jung paws at him with a jab and circles away.

and Jung decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Bluth's guard.
Bluth striking off his back but it's not causing Jung any problems.
Jung might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Jung stands up over Bluth, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Jung chips away with some ground and pound.
Bluth can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Jung controls the pace.
Jung seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Bluth for as long as he can get away with.
Bluth is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Jung controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Jung passes into half guard under a barage of strikes.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Bluth is striking from the bottom but he's now found himself mounted! Oh dear - not enough focus on defense there.

Bluth tries to get to his feet, scrambling wildly. Jung sees the opportunity and transitions to an armbar that forces Bluth to tap. Impressive finish!

As Jung backs off The Viking throws a huge counter combo but Jung manages to avoid it all.
The Viking avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
The Viking slips under a jab from Jung.

Jung darts in and clinches The Viking up against the cage.
Jung pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the cage.#BC#
Jung breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Jung will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

so The Viking counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The Viking takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
