You can see the frustration on Sloan's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Sloan is trying to escape and get back to his feet. Sloan can't do much from the bottom here. Sloan is looking to regain half guard here but Alves keeps moving and retains side control. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Sloan is trying to control Alves's posture but Alves avoids it. #T1##ES# Sloan sneaks out the side door and pushes Alves away - he's back to his feet. Alves lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage. Berry could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Alves keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Berry's efforts to push away. Berry wants to take the fight to the mat but Alves manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch. Alves misses with a knee strike.
