Coming up we have a bantamweight Tycoon World Grappling Championship rules bout between Armen Chichakyan and Bee Jay. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.
This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the bantamweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of Tokyo, with a TWGC record of 0 wins and 0 losses; Armen Chichakyan! And in the blue corner, fighting out of Tokyo, with a TWGC record of 3 wins and 2 losses; Bee Jay! The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Shimada, Tatsuya Matsuyama and Taro Takaoka.
The fighters bow as they face eachother in the middle of the mat and we are under way. Jay closes the distance and clinches. Jay works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard. Score +2 for takedown into guard / half guard: Chichakyan (0) vs (2) Jay Chichakyan looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Chichakyan is controlling Jay's posture. Jay looking to pass the guard. Jay advances position into side control! Score +3 for passing guard: Chichakyan (0) vs (5) Jay The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Jay thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Chichakyan is looking for a sweep.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jay is trying to get an arm triangle but Chichakyan is defending well. You can see the frustration on Chichakyan's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Jay wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Chichakyan, who protects the arm well. Jay is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Chichakyan has escaped the position, nice work there. Chichakyan might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Jay trying to control the position but Chichakyan is working away.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Jay tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Jay working away. Jay tries for a kimura but Chichakyan is defending well. Jay is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Chichakyan has escaped the position, nice work there. You can see the frustration on Chichakyan's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Jay in side control, working for a kimura. He's got hold of an arm and he's torquing it... Chichakyan is tapping! That's the end of the fight!
