Lombarge on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
Lombarge has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from McVitie finds it's way round the side to connect with Lombarge's head.
The fighters circling - McVitie throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Lombarge tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.
McVitie's jab looks to have found its range, popping Lombarge under the eye.
Nice cross by McVitie.

and Laston counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Jack McVitie seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
McVitie connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Laston's hands.
McVitie's coach down at Odins Body Workshop was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on McVitie's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.

Are you kidding me?! Laston ducked down and unloaded an uppercut from hell that sent McVitie clean off his feet! Someone make me a GIF - that's knockout of the night for sure!

Umbuku has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as McVitie is landing a low percentage of strikes.
McVitie keeps the fight on the outside.

It looks like Harley Umbuku has been cut.
Umbuku tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but McVitie swivels and escapes.
Nice straight punches there by McVitie. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of McVitie.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!

McVitie looks to land a combination but McMuffin avoids it well.
McMuffin wants to counter with a clinch but McVitie pushes him away.

and McVitie counters with a two punch combo.
McVitie uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
McVitie fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
McVitie keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
McVitie feints a jab promting Stark to slip. McVitie then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Stark slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.

McVitie dives in looking to finish as James flails his arms in a desperate attempt to block McVitie's strikes! McVitie is raining down hammerfists and the ref stops it! James's desperate flailing just didn't constitute intelligent defence. Some people will probably question the ref's decision but James was definitely hurt and the ref saved him from taking unnecessary punishment. A fighter's safety is paramount in this sport.
