Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Matto Oppo (ranked 4074 p4p, 378 weight class) and Matti Mattonen (ranked 4104 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Oppo swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.

Oppo feints and as Mattonen raises his hands in defense, Oppo changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Oppo tries to free his leg and advance position but Mattonen is retaining full guard.

Oppo drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Oppo jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Mattonen has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Oppo can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Oppo got a little sloppy there for a moment and Mattonen has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Oppo has managed to get both his arms back between Mattonen's legs - danger averted.

Oppo thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Mattonen has his foot on Oppo's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Oppo works his way back into a safe position though.

Oppo drops back, looking for a kneebar! Mattonen looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Mattonen looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Mattonen!

Oppo wants to control the position but that's not easy when your opponent is in side control! Mattonen seems to be going for some sort of submission here. Hard to say what - oh, it's a Brabo choke! He's got it! Oppo is tapping! Wow, great finish!
