Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Andrew Surge!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Meso Horne!
The judges for this bout are Ben Zyskovitsi, Anni Minnemäki and Johanna Lukiainen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Surge moves into the clinch.
Surge wants to break free but Horne has control.

Horne's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Horne closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Horne escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Horne gets in close and instigates a clinch.
A bit of stalling here from Surge.

Surge scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!


It looks like Meso Horne has been cut.

Horne closes the distance and clinches.
Horne is trying to maintain a safe position but Surge gets an underhook and turns Horne into the cage.

Surge manages to break the clinch.

Horne bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
You can see the frustration on Surge's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Surge wants to get back to his feet.

Horne in side control lands a decent elbow.
Horne wants to control but Surge is keeping him busy.

Horne decides to stand back up.
Surge tries to clinch there but Horne circles away.

Surge throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Horne's waist but Horne gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Surge off to one side.

Surge rushes Horne and presses him up against the cage.

Surge stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body.
Surge digs a right hand into Horne's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Horne's gas tank.

Horne defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Surge.
Surge tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Horne paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Surge tries to score a body lock takedown but Horne shows good agility there to stay on his feet.

Horne is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Nice sprawl there from Surge as Horne shoots in.
Horne is trying hard to land a takedown here. Surge sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Surge throws a sloppy head kick and Horne moves out of range easily.

and Horne counters with a nice uppercut.

Horne shoots in looking for a takedown. Surge tries to sprawl out of it but Horne keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Surge manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Surge went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Meso Horne will probably get the nod.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Surge closes this distance looking for a takedown but Horne circles away.
Horne is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own.
Surge tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Horne paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Meso Horne seems to be getting the better of the standup.

Horrible takedown attempt by Horne or perhaps it was just good defense by Surge, which made it look bad.

and Horne counters with a one-two to the body.
Horne swats away the attempt to clinch by Surge.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
You can see the frustration on Surge's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Horne has got his arm under Surge's chin working for the choke… has he got it? It looks pretty tight! Oh! Surge has spun round into Horne's guard beautifully! Well done that man!

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Surge missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.

Horne pushes Surge off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.
No luck for Surge with that takedown attempt.
Horne with the counter takedown but Surge avoids it easily.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Horne tries to score a power double leg takedown but Surge sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Horne somewhat.

Meso Horne showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!


Surge tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Horne defends well and Surge ends up having to push Horne into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
The fight stays on the outside here - Surge looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Horne feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Andrew Surge.
