Coming up we have a light heavyweight Tycoon World Grappling Championship rules bout between Dez Havok (ranked 6642 p4p, 0 weight class) and Shawn Briggs (ranked 6088 p4p, 0 weight class). Briggs has a niggling injury. He would have liked to come in 100% fit but that's not always possible. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

In the red corner, competing out of Las Vegas, with a TWGC record of 1 wins and 2 losses; Dez Havok! And in the blue corner, fighting out of Sydney, with a TWGC record of 2 wins and 0 losses; Shawn Briggs!
The judges for this bout are David Schapiro, Chad Campbell and Lou da Vinci.


Let's get this grappling contest under way! Who will be victorious?
Havok shoots in for a takedown but Briggs shows good takedown defense.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Havok is defended easily by Briggs.
Havok dives in and grabs Briggs's left leg, looking for a takedown. Briggs pushes down on Havok's head and hops out.
Briggs wants to counter with a clinch but Havok pushes him away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Dez Havok. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Horrible takedown attempt by Havok or perhaps it was just good defense by Briggs, which made it look bad.
Briggs tries to clinch up but Havok circles away and keeps his distance.
Havok shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Briggs but Briggs pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Havok looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Briggs is trying to avoid his opponent's strikes and get into the clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Briggs bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Score +4 for clean takedown past guard: Havok (0) vs (4) Briggs

Briggs is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Havok knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
A lull in the action here as Briggs stalls from top position.
Briggs looks winded!

That's one minute gone in the round.

Briggs has hold of Havok's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Havok seems comfortable defending it but Briggs has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Havok is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Havok is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Briggs couldn't care less - he's delighted!
