Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Alvaro Marroquin (ranked 3027 p4p, 319 weight class) and Jean Pierre Martinez (ranked 24564 p4p, 497 weight class). Alvaro Marroquin looks tired to me. Hopefully he has got enough gas left in the tank to put in a good performance.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Alvaro Marroquin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jean Pierre Martinez!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Martinez has a takedown stuffed.
Marroquin looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Martinez has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Marroquin is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Martinez jumps guard but Marroquin stands there with Martinez around his waist. Martinez gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Martinez is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Martinez manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Marroquin manages to get himself to full guard.


Martinez drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Martinez jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

I think Martinez has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
