The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Flores throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Lapierre tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Flores defends well and Lapierre ends up having to push Flores into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Lapierre holds on and takes a little breather.

Flores lands a big head kick that sends Lapierre to the canvas! Flores follows up with strikes from the mount that forces the ref to step in and stop the fight!
