PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Rick Greaves (ranked 4934 p4p, 466 weight class) and Stefan De Jong (ranked 6129 p4p, 512 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Stefan De Jong!
The judges for this bout are Chris Edwards, William Gold and James Glass.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Greaves dives in and grabs De Jong's left leg, looking for a takedown. De Jong pushes down on Greaves's head and hops out.
De Jong with the counter takedown but Greaves avoids it easily.
Greaves looks for a takedown but De Jong sprawls well.
De Jong shoots and misses
and Greaves counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Greaves scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
Greaves fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but De Jong avoids it really well and circles away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Rick Greaves. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Greaves connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Greaves throws a head kick but De Jong moves out of range.
Greaves fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Rick Greaves seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Greaves shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts De Jong as he jumps to the side.

Greaves closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into De Jong's guard.
De Jong is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
De Jong looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

De Jong has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Greaves should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, De Jong has tightened it up now! Greaves should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
