Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Maximus Stephens (ranked 6172 p4p, 284 weight class) and Zyy Kamito (ranked 4411 p4p, 233 weight class). Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Maximus Stephens!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Zyy Kamito!
The judges for this bout are Colin Fotheringham, Sam Margolis and Donald Grub.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Stephens tries to keep at a distance but Kamito has taken the fight into the clinch.
Kamito lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Stephens or not.
Kamito blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Stephens tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Stephens tries to break free but Kamito pushes him back against the cage.
The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows.
Stephens is trying to maintain a safe position but Kamito gets an underhook and turns Stephens into the cage.
Kamito swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Stephens can't break the clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Stephens is looking to control Kamito's arms but Kamito gets an underhook and turns him. Now Stephens has his back to the cage.
The pace really dropping off here, momentarily.
Stephens is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Kamito to keep the fight standing.

Kamito ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Kamito no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Kamito is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Kamito is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Stephens accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Stephens tries to land a body kick

and Kamito holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Stephens tries to throw a body punch but Kamito avoids it by throwing Stephens back against the cage.
Stephens blocks an uppercut.
Stephens has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Kamito is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Kamito stalling.
Kamito stops a takedown attempt from Stephens.
Kamito misses with the head strike.
A nice glancing elbow lands by Kamito.

Stephens decides to pull guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Stephens wants to control the position but Kamito says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard.
Kamito with the ground and pound but Stephens uses the opportunity to regain guard.
Kamito must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Kamito is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Kamito throws a strike aimed at the side of Stephens's head but Stephens avoids it well.

Kamito in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time.

Kamito wants to lay and pray for a moment but Stephens keeps working.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

It looks like Kamito might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

It looks like Maximus Stephens has been cut.

Stephens drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Kamito gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Stephens drops back, looking for a kneebar! Kamito looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Kamito looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Kamito!

Stephens is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Kamito controls the position from side control.
Kamito tries to move into full mount but can't pass Stephens's legs.
Kamito tries to land with some ground and pound but misses.
Stephens tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Kamito wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Kamito wants to lay and pray for a moment but Stephens keeps working.
Stephens is trying to control Kamito's posture but Kamito avoids it.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Stephens changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Kamito tries to avoid it but Stephens manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Kamito to the ground. Kamito escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Stephens shoots in for a takedown but Kamito shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Stephens shoots in looking for a takedown. Kamito tries to sprawl out of it but Stephens keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Kamito manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Kamito throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Stephens distracts Kamito with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.

Kamito manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Stephens manages to get himself to full guard.

Kamito wants to control from the top but Stephens keeps moving.
Kamito postures up in Stephens's guard and throws a big left but Stephens blocks it.
Kamito tries to free his leg and advance position but Stephens is retaining full guard.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Kamito accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Zyy Kamito comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Kamito has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
