Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between George Knight (ranked 4681 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lincoln Hawk (ranked 3026 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, George Knight !
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Lincoln Hawk!
The judges for this bout are Skip Squint, John Mangel and Chris Dean.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Hawk drives through with a takedown into guard.

Knight has his feet on Hawk's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.
Knight fails with a takedown attempt.
Hawk is clearly looking to counter with head kicks.
Hawk misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Knight .
Knight wants to clinch
and Hawk counters with a big head kick but Knight shrugs it off.
Knight leaves Hawk with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Knight gets in close and instigates a clinch.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Knight tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.

Hawk breaks the clinch.
Lincoln Hawk seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Knight looks for a takedown but Hawk sprawls well.
Knight is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

Nice sprawl there from Hawk as Knight shoots in.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for George Knight . That's going to take a lot out of him.
Hawk takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards.
Hawk stuffs the takedown attempt from Knight . Knight gets slowly back to his feet.
Knight sets himself, and Hawk steps forward looking for the clinch! Knight avoids it this time.

Knight fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Hawk sprawls well initially but Knight persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Hawk has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but Knight is on him like a limpet, forcing Hawk back against the cage.
Hawk wants to take the fight to the mat but Knight manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
Knight is trying to pull guard but Hawk has him pressed against the cage.
Hawk lands a nice knee to the body.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Hawk has Knight pushed against the cage.

Hawk breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Knight has taken the fight to the clinch.
Knight tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Hawk smiles and moves away.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Knight .
Hawk buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.

Hawk shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Hawk was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Hawk scoring with strikes but Knight is staying in there.

Hawk looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.

Hawk jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Knight manages to avoid the submission attempt.
Knight on the wrong end of some ground and pound.
Hawk misses with the ground and pound.
Hawk has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Hawk tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Hawk has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Knight knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Hawk on the ground.

Hawk decides to stand back up. Hawk steps back and let's Knight get back to his feet.

Hawk shoots in and gets a takedown into Knight 's guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Knight wants to get back to his feet but Hawk is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Hawk is looking to work some ground and pound but Knight has wrist control.
Hawk is pushing down on Knight 's leg trying to pass to half guard. Knight is fighting to maintain full guard but Hawk has managed to sneak the leg through.

Hawk is looking for a kimura here.
Hawk stalling.

Lincoln Hawk dominated that round.
That's time! Knight 's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Knight tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Hawk has Knight up against the cage in a clinch.
Knight missing with knees to the body.
Knight wants to take the fight to the mat but Hawk manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
Knight wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

Hawk escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Knight tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Knight gets in close and instigates a clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Knight is working Hawk over against the cage.

Hawk goes for a high kick. It partially lands.
Knight tries a head kick but it misses.

Hawk connects with a high kick.
Knight fails with a takedown attempt.
Hawk is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own.
Knight fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Hawk avoids it really well and circles away.

Hawk pushes Knight off and gets back to his feet.

Hawk closes the distance and pushes Knight back into the cage.
Knight drops down looking for an ankle pick but Hawk pulls his leg out and moves away.
Hawk feints and then cracks Knight 's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Knight down.
Knight doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.

Hawk shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Hawk moves into full mount! Knight won't be happy about that!

Hawk goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Knight is on top in guard.
Knight is looking to stand up but Hawk won't let him.
Hawk looking for a sweep. Not yet Hawk, not yet.

Knight trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Knight wants to control from the top but Hawk keeps moving.

Hawk is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Lincoln Hawk showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!


Knight moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.

Hawk fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Knight , pushing him back against the cage.
A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.

Knight breaks the clinch.

Hawk drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Hawk showing good wrestling skills to control the position.
Hawk trying to control but Knight is working from the bottom.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Hawk lands a couple of elbows.

Hawk decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Knight , up you get!

Hawk changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Knight looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Knight is looking for a sweep.
Hawk in side control lands a decent elbow.
Hawk trying to control the position but Knight is working away.
Hawk has knee on belly and moves into mount.
Hawk controlling his opponent.
Knight tries to reverse the position but Hawk maintains control.
Hawk takes Knight 's back.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Knight tries to escape but Hawk has the hooks in and won't let him break free.
Good control from Hawk.

Knight is staying cool under pressure, defending well against the rear naked choke attempt from his opponent.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
What can Knight do to escape this position? He's going to have to figure it out pretty quick if he wants to stay in the fight!

Knight won't enjoy being in this position. Hawk looking for the choke. Oh... he's slipped the arm under the neck - Knight is tapping - it's over boys! Hawk picks up the submission victory!
