Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Billy Marques (ranked 2759 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jorge Adesanya (ranked 4903 p4p, 0 weight class). Marques kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Raining Blood. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Marques looks to land a combination. Adesanya sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.

and Marques decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Adesanya's guard.
Adesanya is looking to stand back up but Marques counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Adesanya.

Adesanya flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.

Marques jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Adesanya manages to avoid the submission attempt.

Marques tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Marques has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Adesanya throws a few strikes from the bottom but Marques takes advantage and mounts!
Marques takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Marques is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Adesanya can't stay in a position like this for much longer.

Marques's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
Adesanya wants to try and get back to his feet.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Marques has the hooks in and he's looking for a rear naked choke here. Adesanya is defending well but eventually Marques manages to get an arm under the chin and he's locked on the RNC! Adesanya has no choice but to tap now! He does! This one is all over!
