The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kowalski tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Karlson defends well and Kowalski ends up having to push Karlson into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Kowalski really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Karlson . If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Karlson has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Kowalski avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
